The public is invited to a presentation on the threats to a healthy forest given by Don Friday, Director of Birding Programs for the New Jersey Audubon Society’s Cape May Bird Observatory. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the Main Branch of the Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House.
Even protected lands may need help, thanks to threats from sometimes unexpected places; white-tailed deer, Japanese Barberry, and exotic earthworms. Freiday explains what can be, and is being done to keep our ecosystems healthy.
Freiday is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he went on to teach Wildlife Ecology.
He is the regional coordinator for the New Jersey Breeding Bird Atlas, member of the New Jersey Bird Records Committee and on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chapter of the Wildlife Society.
Additionally, he has co-authored two books: “A Precious Place, a Naturalist Explores New Jersey,” and “Wild Journeys: Migration in New Jersey.”

Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
