LOWER TOWNSHIP – Dec. 27, 2017, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Lower Township Police officers, as well as the Lower Township Rescue Squad and the Villas Fire Department, responded to the first block of Arizona Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township for the report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
Upon officers’ arrival, an overturned motor vehicle was observed in the roadway on Arizona Avenue and the 35 year-old driver, Michael V. Reichenbach, was still inside the motor vehicle. Michael V. Reichenbach was assisted out of the motor vehicle by members of the Villas Fire Department. The accident investigation revealed Michael V. Reichenbach was traveling West on Arizona Avenue and struck a parked motor vehicle causing his vehicle to overturn in the roadway. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Michael V. Reichenbach had allegedly stolen the vehicle he was operating from a client who hired him to renovate a property.
Michael V. Reichenbach was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center by the Lower Township Rescue Squad and arrested on outstanding warrants, as well as being charged on a summons for theft of a motor vehicle, a crime of the third degree. Michael V. Reichenbach was also issued multiple summonses regarding the motor vehicle accident. Upon being discharged from Cape Regional Medical Center, Michael V. Reichenbach was processed at Lower Township Police Headquarters and lodged at the Cape May County Correction Center on the outstanding warrants.
