WOODBINE — The Borough of Woodbine has made two applications to the New Jersey Department of Transportation for grant funding under its Municipal Aid, Program, totaling over $620,000, according to Mayor William Pikolycky in a release.
The first application, for $236,438 is for the reconstruction of DeHirsch Avenue from Monroe Avenue to Heilprin Avenue and continues previously NJDOT funded work on DeHirsch Avenue.
The second application, in the amount of $384,344, is for additional phases of road reconstruction of Sumner Avenue between Heilprin Avenue and Tyler Road, including the installation of storm water infrastructure to correct recurring flooding problems.
This project is a continuation of two recently NJDOT funded projects. If approved, this application will complete the work on Sumner providing a fully reconstructed roadway between Tyler and Heilprin.
These improvements complement the work being performed by the County on Webster.
“These projects continue improving upon our existing infrastructure, adding traffic calming for our pedestrian and biking community as well as enhancing the health, safety, and welfare of all those who use these roads,” concluded Pikolycky.
