WOODBINE — The Borough of Woodbine has been awarded a $30,000 Sustainable Jersey Small Grant funded by The Gardinier Environmental Fund.
These monies will be used as a match for Woodbine’s Direct Install application for replacement of lighting, HVAC, and other outdated operational equipment with energy efficient alternatives for the various municipal buildings and will leverage this $100,000 energy efficiency improvement project.
These improvements will be done with no cost to the Borough.
The Borough took advantage of the Direct Install program when it was first offered by the Board of Public Utilities. Energy saving upgrades to a number of municipal buildings were done at that time.
“I am pleased that Woodbine has been recognized by Sustainable Jersey with such a large grant award which will enable us to leverage our Direct Install energy efficiency project with no cost to our taxpayers. I compliment our Municipal Clerk, Lisa Garrison, who headed the application process along with our Green Team and municipal employees for all their hard work in preparing both of these applications which have come to successful fruition,” thanked Mayor Pikolycky.
