WOODBINE – The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs has awarded the Borough of Woodbine additional Small Cities funding in the amount of $150,000 to supplement funds previously received from Federal Emergency Management Administration, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, as well as from the New Jersey Department of Community Affair’s Small Cities program for drainage related reconstruction on various Borough roads. Total funding for this project stands at $2 million.
This will result in the completion of a much needed improvement for the Borough that will include transportation related components including roadway paving; drainage improvements that will extend pavement life; and the reduction of safety issues attributed to flooding of the roads due to inadequate or non-existent drainage infrastructure.
“We are grateful for all the grants now received for this project, allowing us to complete this long-planned and essential project,” concluded Mayor Pikolycky. “I want to thank the Department of Community Affairs for increasing their funding portion from $400,000 to $550,000, thus recognizing our community’s needs. Work should be completed within the next thirty days.”
