By Press Release

WOODBINE — The Woodbine Port Authority will be opening bids for construction of runways safety area project on Oct. 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Woodbine Borough Hall.
The project, titled Construct Runway 1-19 Safety Area, is being funded under a grant from both the Federal Aviation Administration and the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
The project consists of removing trees and stumps, trimming of trees and brush, along Runway 1-19 as well as three runway end approaches. When this project is completed, the airport will be able to establish and maintain this area of low vegetation which will promote safety by prohibiting future obstructive growth.
“I want to thank the NJDOT as well as the FAA for their funding so that we can continue to operate at a high standard serving the general aviation community,” added Mayor Pikolycky.
