WOODBINE – The Borough of Woodbine has made application to the United State Department of Agriculture—Rural Development Community Facilities for Phase 2 of the Woodbine Food Distribution Center Renovations.
This funding will be for additional facility upgrades and equipment purchases for the first floor of the Public Safety Building.
Proposed upgrades to the first floor will include replacement of windows, installation of vinyl siding which will be insulated for a proper transition for a first to second floor,  insulation of existing ductwork, installation of additional heating & air-conditioning, painting of floor with anti-skid material
This facility serves as a community food distribution site by the First Baptist Church of Woodbine which provides non-perishable food products.
The food is provided in partnership with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) is an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need by filling the emptiness caused by hunger with the basic human essentials that people need to survive.
The United State Department of Agriculture—Rural Development had previously awarded the Borough funding in the amount of $20,000 for facility improvements to this building under Phase 1 of these renovations, which were recently completed.
“This is Phase 2 of three phases”, added Mayor Pikolycky. “In the third phase we hope to continue to improve upon the overall building as we continue our partnership with the First Baptist Church and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, whose operations these upgrades will continue to enhance as they enhance the facilities.”
