Woodbine Gets More Streetscape Funding

By Herald Staff

WOODBINE — The Borough of Woodbine has been awarded $46,000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Transportation Trust Fund for completion of a previously NJDOT-funded road project improvement project for portions of Franklin and Clay Streets, which are an integral part of the Borough’s streetscape project.
This award is for roadwork on that portion of Franklin Street between Washington and Adams Avenues, which is the section of roadway that connects the Borough’s downtown area with its adjacent shoulder commercial area, and that serves as an interconnect between prior NJDOT projects which are part of the overall streetscape improvement.
The current funding award will go for completion of this project as originally planned. When the project was originally bid, the State allocation was insufficient to award that portion of Franklin Street.
“We again thank NJDOT for looking favorably on Woodbine’s infrastructure improvement initiatives,” noted Mayor William Pikolycky. “We will now be able to complete the overall roadway project as designed.”
