WOODBINE – The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund (HDSRF) has approved the Borough of Woodbine’s application for a grant totaling $129,645 for site and remedial investigation activities at the Woodbine Municipal Airport property. Historical military and commercial uses created areas of concern to be investigated in the proposed studies. Taylor Wiseman & Taylor of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey will be leading the investigation.
Since filing of the original application for this site in 2014, the Borough has met with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to discuss additional areas of concern arising from historic World War II era Navy activities at the Airport. Investigation activities of WWII era underground storage tanks were also conducted under the Federal Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP/FUDS) at the request of Mayor Pikolycky.
“These environmental studies will help assist in clearing the way to allow the Borough to move ahead with its redevelopment plans in the permitted development areas within and adjacent to the Airport. We thank NJDEP for recognizing the importance of the Airport as part of the economic development of the Borough,” noted Mayor Pikolycky.
Dennisville – As a parent of a Tech student it would be great if the school would update their staff directory. So many old staff still listed and no new teachers listed. What gives?
