CREST HAVEN – Gabrielle Wolf, of Cold Spring, accepted a $500 Investors Bank Scholarship at the Aug. 22 freeholders’ meeting.
Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton and Freeholder Will Morey, liaison to the Technical School District, made the presentation on behalf of the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Foundation.
Wolf was accompanied to the meeting by her mother, Karen Wolf.
A graduate of Cape May County Technical School, Wolf plans to enter Atlantic Cape Community College’s Culinary Academy.
Prior to the presentation, Morey read remarks from the Technical School staff, where Wolf studied culinary arts.
“At school, Gabrielle applies her time well. She contributes extensively to various school functions held after and during school through the culinary arts program. In this class, her classmates and she produce an exquisite, fine-dining experience for both in and out-of-school functions.
“Gabrielle is certified in Serve-Safe Sanitation, and is listed as one of her personal accomplishments. She can also be found at the school volunteering for various organizations aimed at assisting the overall student population as well as lending her time to the School-Based Youth Services program and events.”
“It’s not just the money,” said Morey, “It’s nice to be recognized for the accomplishments and for your contribution to the student population, and to honor your achievements.”
The other recipient of a similar scholarship was Bryan Lee, who did not attend the meeting.
The NJAC Foundation is a non-profit organization affiliated with the New Jersey Association of Counties and is committed to providing innovative educational opportunities for county vocational school and county college students, according to Executive Director John G. Donnadio.
