Wireless Gets Right-of-Way

NORTH WILDWOOD ─ Presented on second reading Dec. 4, a right-of-way agreement was authorized with New Cingular Wireless PCS.
City Solicitor William Kaufmann said New Cingular Wireless is, in essence, AT&T and will have access to various utility poles throughout North Wildwood.
According to Kaufmann, new wires will be installed and certain poles replaced. Kaufmann told council of a new interpretation of the 1995 Telecommunications Act that will impact municipal placement and use of utility poles.
