Wildwood Residents Need Permits to Cut Trees

By Press Release

RESIDENTS MUST NOTIFY CITY BEFORE CUTTING TREES
WILDWOOD – Recently, City Hall has been inundated with numerous complaints by residents irritated by unauthorized tree-cutting.
Mayor DeMarzo reminds the community, “Paul Bunyan might not have needed permits for his tree-cutting, but he lived in days before the supply of trees was rock bottom and liability insurance sky high.”
It is necessary to secure a written permit from the Clerk’s Office at Town Hall (4400 New Jersey Ave.) before felling any trees located on shared or city-owned property. A City official will review the action and provide authorization.
Tree-cutting without official permission is a violation of City Ordinance 3-7.5, which states that residents may not “cut, trim, break, disturb the roots of, or spray with harmful chemicals any living tree or shrub” without a permit.
