By Press Release

WILDWOOD – City of Wildwood police officers responded to 4,239 calls during the month of February. Included in that number were calls for eight burglaries; one aggravated assault; 11 simple assaults; eight domestic violence; 192 disturbances; 20 thefts; 57 suspicious persons and 41 suspicious vehicles.
Police conducted 722 motor vehicle stops, responded to 15 motor vehicle accidents and three calls for driving while intoxicated. Officers also responded to 84 calls for medical assistance and 35 fire alarms. Officers conducted 20 drug investigations.
Arrests included 74 adult arrests, with no juvenile arrests.
During the same month last year, police responded to 1,676 calls.
“Officers were able to respond to more than twice the number of calls this month than in February, 2014,” said Chief of Police Robert Regalbuto. “This increase in calls is indicative of our increased police presence throughout the city of Wildwood. With our recently newly hired officers and our new 12-hour shift scheduling, we are able to have put more officers on the street to fight crime.”
