Wildwood Layoff Plan Includes Five Police Officers

WILDWOOD — According to 987theCoast.com, the layoff plan in Wildwood includes 10 permanent employees in the Department of Public Safety and Public Affairs, three employees in the Department of Revenue and Finance, and 29 employees in the Department of Public Works. The plan includes the laying off of five police officers including Mayor Gary DeMarzo and one firefighter.
Coastal Broadcasting has claimed that it has obtained a copy of a letter the state’s Civil Service Commission sent to the city.
Wildwood officials are looking for savings in the budget as a way to bring the tax rate in the city down, according to the report.
