WILDWOOD CREST – The Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners has passed an ordinance that rescinds fees at the public tennis courts located at 6300 Ocean Avenue during the summer months. The action was taken during the board’s regular bimonthly meeting April 15.
“Charging fees at our tennis courts had been becoming increasingly cost deficient with respect to fees collected versus salary costs,” said Don Cabrera, Commissioner of Public Works and Recreation. “With that in mind, and in continuing with our efforts provide more free activities, events and amenities for our residents and visitors, we felt it was prudent at this time to rescind this ordinance that charged fees for the facility’s usage during the summer months.”
The Borough of Wildwood’s Crest’s public tennis facility at 6300 Ocean Avenue features eight hard courts. Another public tennis facility with three hard courts is located at Washington Avenue Park at Washington and New Jersey avenues. The Washington Avenue tennis facility is also free to the public.
