CORRECTION: An Aug. 3, page A13 story about this borough’s Board of Commissioners incorrectly stated a resolution was passed that authorized a tax refund to a disabled veteran. It was removed at the Tax Assessor’s request, as not all paperwork had been submitted, according to Municipal Clerk Patricia A. Feketics. Action is expected on it Aug. 10.
WILDWOOD CREST ─ Board of Commissioners and residents gathered in the heart of summer July 27 to discuss the matters at hand on the agenda. According to Mayor Carl Groon, it has been “quiet in the Crest” as the community continues its waltz with visitors and summer’s whirl of events.
An ordinance was presented upon first reading for “Augmenting and Amending. . . Street Excavations and Openings.” Twelve resolutions also came before the commissioners, including authorizing a tax refund for “100 percent disabled veteran William J. Blickos for property located at 126 East Forget-Me-Not Road in the amount of 3,451.67.”
Two mercantile licenses were refunded as well as a refund “for overpayment of first session of Crest Pier Playmates” to Jennifer Pruszinski.
A closed session was also authorized for discussion “pursuant to the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act for a matter of potential litigation” regarding Pacific Avenue.
During the public comment, a resident complained of parking concerns. Her concern stems from cars parked in an area designated for condo owners. Wanda Read attended both Wildwood’s Commissioners’ meetings and Wildwood Crest’s meeting July 27. Read, who lives on Cresse Avenue, has pressed both governing bodies for action on her behalf.
