By Press Release

WILDWOOD CREST – As of May 6, Wildwood Crest Police Communications transitioned to Cape May County Communications.
According to a release, while this is a major change for the police department, Chief Joseph McGrath stated, “The residents and visitors of Wildwood Crest will still be able to contact the police department in the same manner as they always have. ”
The main difference will be in where the calls are answered.
Residents are encouraged to use the following methods to contact the department:
* For emergencies Dial 9-1-1.
* For non-emergent police services, such as reporting a parking problem or noise complaint, the public can still call the Non-Emergent Police number at 609-522-2456.
County dispatchers will gather the information and relay the request for service to an officer on duty.
*For generation questions regarding permits, firearms applications, and other administrative functions of the police department, contact the borough’s main line at 609-729-8030.
Police Department is Option #3. Callers will be able to reach the administrative offices through that option.
* The main lobby will still be accessible 24 hours a day. The public can walk into the police department and speak to an officer regarding any matter.
A member of the police department will be available at the window when the person enters.
In the event no one is available at the window, there will be a telephone to reach County Communications which will dispatch an officer to the building.
McGrath stated, “We at the Wildwood Crest Police Department are committed to protecting and serving the many citizens and visitors of Wildwood Crest. We want to ensure all residents that none of these changes will impede the services we provide to the borough.”
