Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners Announces Meetings, Time Changes

WILDWOOD CREST – The first of two weekend Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners meetings will be held June 4, at 9:30 a.m. A second weekend meeting will be held Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m.
In addition, all evening meetings for the remainder of the calendar year will begin at 5:30 p.m. They were originally scheduled for 7 p.m. The evening meetings include those scheduled for the following Wednesday evenings: June 22, July 27, Aug. 24, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 30 and Dec. 21.
All meetings are held in the courtroom on the first floor of Wildwood Crest Borough Hall. Aside from the addition of the two Saturday meetings in June and August, the Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners traditionally meets twice per month throughout the year, with the first meeting of the month scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and the second meeting of the month now scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
“We have made the changes to our meeting schedule based on a lot of suggestions from many of our full-time residents and second homeowners,” said Don Cabrera, Wildwood Crest Commissioner of Public Works. “The two Saturday meetings in the summer months will afford many of our full-time residents and second homeowners who cannot make midweek meetings the opportunity to attend a borough commission meeting. And many of our residents have asked for earlier times to our evening meetings to make it easier to attend with respect to work and family obligations.
“The Borough of Wildwood Crest continues to welcome and encourage the public to attend and take part in its public meetings. We are confident that the addition of Saturday morning meetings and an earlier start time to our weekly meetings will make it more convenient for our residents to become involved in the democratic process here in the borough.”
The changes in meeting times and the addition of the Saturday meetings in June and August were approved by resolution by the Board of Commissioners earlier this year.
