Wildwood Commissioners Approve Appointments

WILDWOOD — The Wildwood Board of Commissioners hired a new tax assessor for the city at its July 19 meeting. Jason Hesley, the incumbent tax assessor for Wildwood Crest was offered the position, effective July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015.
Hesley has been working evenings in the city’s tax office until he leaves Wildwood Crest. He told the commissioners that he anticipates August 15 as a firm start date.
“The addition of Jason as the tax assessor is a huge asset to the city,” said Commissioner Pete Byron, head of Finance and Revenue.
The board also unanimously gave a nod to the appointment of Tom Byrne, a local insurance agent, to the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA). Byrne’s appointment will replace a business seat on the GWTIDA vacated by Mary Erceg.
“I’d like to have Mary come to a meeting to be recognized for her many, many years of dedicated service to the city,” said Mayor Ernie Troiano.
Paul Reidenbach, was reappointed as a resident member of the GWTIDA.
In other appointments, Chris Fox was approved as a replacement for Lou Ferrara as a member of the Boardwalk Special Improvement District (SID). Fox is currently holds the position of boardwalk inspector for the city.
“There’s no better person to have than the person who is the boardwalk inspector,” said Troiano.
