By Press Release

WEST WILDWOOD – The West Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department welcomed three new members with the swearing in of Ronald McGowan, Jr., Robert Feltwell and Carl O’Hala, Sr. as Fire Police Officers.
McGowan and Feltwell were administered their oaths of office by Borough Clerk Donna Frederick during the Aug. 2 Borough Commissioners meeting. O’Hala was unable to attend the meeting and was sworn into office by Frederick Aug. 5.
The three new fire police officers are a first for the borough. They will be utilized on a volunteer basis to assist with traffic control and safety at emergency scenes as well as assisting with road closures in addition to other duties.
“The fire police are highly regarded in the fire service and essential in managing a large event,” said Chris Ridings, Borough Administrator.
McGowan, Feltwell and O’Hala received their training at the Cape May County Fire Academy.
