Voting to Switch Mayors, Wildwood Commission Keeps DeMarzo 2-to-1

By Herald Staff

WILDWOOD – Commissioners voted 2-to-1 this week to keep Gary DeMarzo as Wildwood’s mayor.
According to a story in the Press of Atlantic City, a possible mayoral switch surfaced at Tuesday’s regular meeting during the commission’s executive session. A resolution about the mayor’s job did not appear on the agenda, but came about following the executive session, according to City Clerk Christopher Wood. Commissioners voted on the issue after returning to public session.
In August, Commissioners Al Brannen and Edward Harshaw voted in favor of a measure that would have made Brannen the city’s mayor effective Dec. 15. DeMarzo also voted in favor of the switch at the time.
But on Tuesday, DeMarzo and Harshaw voted to keep DeMarzo in the mayor’s seat.
