SEA ISLE CITY – At its Jan. 8 meeting, Sea Isle City Council hosted Liz Barrett, representative, South Jersey Quilts of Valor, who presented Ronald Delorefice a handmade quilt that recognized his military service and sacrifice.
Delorefice served in the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry, in Vietnam from 1967-68 and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Delorefice lived in Ardmore, Pa., where he was a police officer in Lower Merion before moving full time to Sea Isle City.
Quilts of Valor Foundation, per information on its website (www.qovf.org), was founded in 2003 with a mission to “cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts of valor. The quilts are of high quality and awarded, not just distributed, to recognize our veterans’ service and sacrifice.”
