Use Old Flagpole

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – During public comment at Sea Isle City’s Council meeting Sept. 25, resident Tom Maguire suggested that the city make better use of a flagpole which is no longer in use at the municipality’s old library site at JFK Boulevard.
“That flagpole is not flying anything in the middle of the vacant parking lot. I read how many police officers have been killed just this year alone and think we should do something to remember them as well as those who lost their lives during Sept. 11.” President Jack Gibson said council would look into implementing the suggestion.
