PETERSBURG – Township committee member Mark Pancoast informed his colleagues at their Oct. 24 meeting that the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) operations room is up and running.
Situated at the township’s administrative building, Pancoast praised the new space.
“It’s been a long time coming and the room is very much needed,” explained Pancoast. “It’s a vast improvement over what was being used. Everyone is trained now and our emergency response time–such as for 911 calls–is upgraded. We are lucky to have this truly cutting-edge technology, and Upper is only one of seven municipalities in the state to have it.”
