Upper Twp Rescue Utilizes New Communications Service

UPPER TOWNSHIP – The Upper Township Rescue Squad will utilize a new communications service, effective immediately, that allows us to send important, valuable community information directly.
The Nixle Community Information Service allows us to create and publish messages to be delivered to subscribed residents instantly via cell phone text message and/or email. Notifications can also be accessed online at Nixle’s web site at www.nixle.com.
Messages may include traffic advisories during major incidents, squad announcements, as well as other relevant safety and community event information.
We wanted the community we serve to know more about what we do day to day, said Chief Jay Potter. Other agencies have had a tremendous amount of success enhancing their public relations by using Nixle’s services. We are pleased to be able provide information using Nixle and also have a tool to warn our residents in real time they should avoid an area due to a traffic accident or other emergencies in progress.
Subscribers can choose the way in which alerts are received, whether it is by email, text message, or over the web.
