PETERSBURG – Upper Township Mayor Richard Palombo informed Committee members at their April 6 meeting that the only COVID-19 death in the county, at the time, was a resident of the municipality.
This victim, identified as a 72-year-old woman, with underlying health conditions, was reported in a county listing of COVID-19 related incidents.
“This is really sad news for us, and especially since the victim is a relative of an Upper EMS member,” Palombo said. “We are continually being asked for the names and addresses of those identified as COVID patients, but these details will never be published because of patient protections under HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
