PETERSBURG – At its Oct. 28 meeting, Upper Township Committee unanimously approved an ordinance that permits placement of lawn signs on properties where a contractor or landscaper has worked.
“This ordinance is designed to provide guidance for placement of these signs and permits contractors, landscapers and others to place these signs for 30 days where they have done work,” explained Engineer Paul Dietrich.
During public comment, Blanche Adams, president, Upper Township Business Association, expressed concern that the ordinance might be more restrictive than what was currently allowed.
“No, that is not the case at all,” said Dietrich. “In fact, these signs are not permitted currently, so the new provision will be good for business.”
