WILDWOOD – On Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m., Governor-elect Phil Murphy will visit the Wildwood Vietnam Veterans’ Wall, 4500 Ocean Ave. The ceremony has been moved inside to the Wildwoods Convention Center, and will take place in the main foyer.
Murphy and his wife, Tammy, have chosen this location to kick off his inauguration week. Their children plan to attend as well. This will be Murphy’s second visit to the wall, the first being in the early spring prior to announcing his candidacy.
Democrat Murphy is to take his gubernatorial oath Jan. 16 in Trenton.
The remembrance wreath-laying ceremony is being sponsored by Chapter 955, Vietnam Veterans of America, President Bill Davenport, American Legion Post 184, Commander Harry Weimar, VFW Post 5941, and Commander Joe Orlando, who are all headquartered on the island, along with the City of Wildwood.
The event is open to the public.
