COURT HOUSE – It’s official. Anyone wanting to keep a goat in Middle Township is going to need at least five acres of land. On April 16, Township Committee adopted clarifying language to its ordinance on the keeping of small farm animals. If they have less than five acres, they are limited to geese, chickens, and ducks. Elsewhere in the ordinance, beekeeping is permitted as well.
The need for the clarification came after a dispute concerning a goat, according to Township Solicitor Frank Corrado. In resolving that issue, “We found we needed to clarify the ordinance,” Corrado said.
During public comment, there was one last effort made on behalf of the goat. “Are goats currently on less than five acres grandfathered?” asked resident Peggy Mathis. “No,” was Corrado’s reply.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
