Under 21? Don’t Try Buying

By Vince Conti

CAPE MAY – Police Chief Anthony Marino told Cape May City Council that this year’s Cops in Shops initiative allows for broader use of the state grant funds.
“In the past, the funds could only be used for undercover officers in retail package stores,” Marino said. “This year, we will be able to use the funds to station officers in any establishment with a liquor license,” he added.
For the under-21 crowd trying to illegally buy alcohol, the restaurant employee or the other patron at the bar could be a cop.
