Tirotta Honored for Service

By Rachel Rogish

NORTH WILDWOOD – Officer Jerry Tirotta of the North Wildwood Fire Department accepted a proclamation and flag from City Council Dec. 18 in recognition of decades of service. Mayor Patrick Rosenello presented a flag flown above every public building in North Wildwood.
According to Rosenello, the late mayor William Henfey instituted presentations to retirees as an honor.
Tirotta began in the Anglesea Volunteer Fire Company in the 1970s where he remained until going full-time in 1989. Council thanked Tirotta for his service. Tirotta said, “You (council) should have the award for putting up with me.”
