Tidy Privy for Pickleball Players

By Vince Conti

AVALON – Charles McDonnell presented Avalon Borough Council with a recommendation to increase the hours for contract custodial services at the restrooms that support the pickleball and tennis courts. The small additional funding was required because of the continued success of the recreation program, he said.
McDonnell’s request of the council was to extend the cleaning time five extra hours. The current bathroom maintenance contract runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. McDonnell’s proposal was to extend the contract to 8 p.m. Council seemed positively inclined and approval is expected.
One aspect of the contract is unchanged: bathrooms are to be cleaned every two hours during the open times from early May to early September.
