Temporary Lane Closure to Occur During Lafayette Street Bridge Repairs

Lafayette St. Bridge

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – Lower Township Police Department would like to inform motorists and residents of a temporary lane closure of the Lafayette Street Bridge.  One lane will be closed during the construction, with traffic being controlled by a traffic signal.  This construction is necessary to facilitate repairs to the Lafayette Street Bridge between Lower Township and Cape May.
The lane closure will occur from March 29 starting at approximately 7 a.m. and lasting until approximately May 20.
Motorists wishing to enter and exit the City of Cape May, utilizing the US Route 109 Bridge, may experience delays and are encouraged to avoid this area if possible. This will be the first phase of this project and it is scheduled to be completed prior to Memorial Day. Both lanes will be open throughout the busy summer months.
The second phase is scheduled to begin in mid-October, lasting until mid- November.
