TRENTON – The state Senate confirmed attorney Jeffrey Sutherland to be Cape May County’s prosecutor Dec. 7, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
Sutherland, of Ocean City, was Cape May County Democratic chairman when he was nominated by Gov. Chris Christie Nov. 30.
Sutherland will take over from Acting Prosecutor Rob Johnson, who was appointed to the position after Robert Taylor retired Oct. 1.
The county prosecutor’s term is five years.
