CREST HAVEN — Recently, Superintendent Dr. Nancy Hudanich recognized Patrolman Shawn Karge, a 2011 graduate in the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Career and Technical Education program, as the New Jersey County Council of Vocational-Technical Schools “High School Successful Graduate” for Cape May County Technical School District.
Karge earned a Special Law Enforcement Officer Class I certification while attending Cape May Tech. Building on the educational foundation he received from the Tech he completed an additional 471 hours of training to obtain the Class II certification and was hired as a Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II by the Middle Township Police Department. Realizing his potential, the department sponsored him in Aug. 2014 to participate in a rigorous 21 week full-residential, Police Officers program. The program included a comprehensive array of each and every aspect of police work.
As a recent graduate from the Cape May County Police Academy, he was immediately promoted to his current position as a Middle Township Police Officer and continues to serve the community.
