STONE HARBOR – The Stone Harbor Rescue Squad donated a Kawasaki EMS ATV to the Stone Harbor Volunteer Fire-Rescue to assist with medical calls on the borough’s beaches. The Rescue Squad received a private donation which was used for the purchase.
For a number of years, the Stone Harbor Fire-Rescue has been using a pickup truck to remove patients from the beaches. This new ATV will be more maneuverable on the beaches and allow easier transports.
“It was a pleasure to donate this ATV to the Fire-Rescue to assist with these difficult calls,” said Rescue Squad President Michael Scheeler. “This new unit should greatly enhance the ability to access a patient on the crowded beaches in the summer.”
The unit was purchased from Main Street Kawasaki in Cape May Court House, NJ. The ATV is equipped with all emergency equipment including a patient compartment. Chief Roger Stanford was happy with the donation. He said it is a pleasure to have such a great working relationship with the Stone Harbor Rescue Squad. Chief Stanford said that this unit will also be used for the numerous special events and races in Stone Harbor.
