STONE HARBOR — The Borough of Stone Harbor has confirmed two public meeting dates that will fully discuss three possible locations for the borough’s own branch of the Cape May County library system.
Meetings will be:
• Wed., April 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Borough Council chambers.
• Sat., April 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Stone Harbor Elementary School.
“These two public meetings will provide Stone Harbor residents and property owners with opportunities to comment on placing our library at the three locations under consideration by our Library Location Committee,” stated Stone Harbor Administrator Jill Gougher in a release. “We encourage everyone who is interested in this library project to see the presentations and share their thoughts on where this branch library should be built.”
The Stone Harbor Library Location Committee has identified three sites that are being considered to host a branch of the county library system.
The committee met in January, twice in February and once in March to identify potential locations for the library.
Seven borough-owned properties were considered and the committee determined that three warranted consideration by the county.
Locations are:
• Beachfront between 94th Street and 95th Street (original library location)
• Seng Place, on 96th Street between First and Second Avenues
• Second Avenue lots between 93rd and 94th streets.
The borough has requested a facilitator to assist with the county’s presentation, and has also requested that three-dimensional renderings of the proposed building be available for all three sites to help the public better visualize the structure.
Gougher continues to invite public input on the library project. The public can offer input via email at gougherj@stone-harbor.nj.us.
Every individual who emails a public comment about the project is automatically added to a distribution list for future press releases and information related to the library project.
