STONE HARBOR – Stone Harbor Mayor Judith M. Davies-Dunhour is the first person to complete the courses and apply to attain “Municipal Leader” designation from the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
According to the organization’s website, the mayor will be sent a certificate and will be recognized at the orientation session at the 105th annual League Conference in November. The event is to be held in Atlantic City.
The program is voluntary and open to all elected governing body members. To participate, officials must complete training and advocacy work.
The program has three tiers based on a point system:
Municipal Leader
Municipal Innovator
Municipal Pioneer
When a participant earns the required points, they are recognized at those tiers.
Elected governing body members can achieve each level by attending training seminars, writing articles for the magazine and advocating for municipal interests.
