Stone Harbor Bridges to Close for Safety Tests

STONE HARBOR – The Borough of Stone Harbor has received notification that Cape May County’s Engineering Consultant will be performing NJDOT mandated safety tests on the following bridges:
– 96th Street Bridge (CR 657) Over Great Channel
– Ocean Drive Bridge (CR 619) over Great Channel
Testing will require complete closure of the bridges to all vehicle and marine traffic for 15 minute intervals over a four (4) hour period from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Traffic will be cleared after each 15 minute test period.  The specific test dates are:
Oct. 19 – Ocean Drive (CR 619) Bridge AKA the “Free Bridge”
Oct. 20 – 96th Street Bridge (CR 657)
Inspectors will also be onsite Oct. 18 and 21 performing testing which may require brief opening and closing of the bridges.
Please adjust your routes accordingly to avoid delays.
