COURT HOUSE – Effective May 13, a single point of entry/exit to the Cape May County Superior Courthouse in Court House, will be implemented.
According to a release, all parties entering and exiting the courthouse will utilize the entrance in the rear of the building. The Route 9 entrance will officially be closed and utilized as an emergency exit only.
This change, a combined effort of Cape May County government, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Judiciary, brings the court facility into compliance with the Model Court Security Plan and recommendations of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
Single points of entry/exit enhance security, maintain control, and provide for more efficient use of sheriff personnel.
Modern screening stations, together with other security enhancements, have been added to the open lobby area, which also provides barrier-free access.
New signage has been installed.
