SEA ISLE CITY – In a sign of the times regarding the prevailing focus on nutrition and offering healthy food choices, Sea Isle City Council passed a resolution, at its Jan. 10 meeting, authorizing the advertisement of a bid for a new beach concession, not for soft pretzels or water ice, but acai bowls and protein snacks.
Acai bowls, made from acai berries that are mixed with granola, nuts, and seeds, have become trending fare for those wanting to stay on track with their healthy eating.

The city hopes that if the plan bears “fruit,” the two-year contract will generate at least $5,000 in annual revenue for municipal coffers.
