WILDWOOD– Sen. Robert Menendez visited the Wildwoods on Fri. Aug. 13.
Menendez spoke to many veterans in front of the Viet Nam wall, placed a wreath in front of the wall and viewed the boardwalk stopping at Sam’s Pizza to have slice. He also stopped by Mariner’s Landing pier and took a walk on North Wildwood’s dune replenishment project.
The Greater Wildwood Tourism Improvement and Development Authority members wanted the senator to see the activity on the boardwalk to gain support for the reconstruction of the 50-year-old boardwalk at $2,800,000 per block for 26 blocks. Replacing the existing boardwalk will help ensure visitors will return shop and enjoy the boardwalk for years to come thus creating jobs and stimulating private investment.
