PETERSBURG – Upper Township Committee member John Coggins announced April 9 that as a result of strategic prioritizing by the municipality’s Economic Development Committee, there would be a May 1 meeting at 7 p.m. at the Upper Township Municipal Building regarding promotion of a full Garden State Parkway interchange at Milepost 20. At present, motorists can exit the northbound lane or enter the southbound lane. This interchange has been a long-standing dream of Upper Township and surrounding municipalities. “We are starting a big push and campaign to get this interchange approved. We’d like to see a big public turnout at the May 1 meeting and get everyone really interested. We’re hoping at that time to have lots of comments, suggestions, and questions that we can use to move this initiative forward. We’ve also informed county freeholders and our state legislators about our plans,” explained Coggins.
