SEA ISLE CITY – City Council approved purchase of new Mobi-Mats March 11 through acquisition from the state contract for Americans with Disability Act beach access matting. The vendor is Deschamps Mats Systems and the cost of the mats is nearly $111,000. Per earlier council discussions and public comments, Mobi-Mats have been described as a much desired improvement for beach access with residents asking for more beach entrance locations where mats are positioned. The mats enable especially wheelchair users, children in strollers and people with mobility concerns easier access through the sand.
