SEA ISLE CITY – At its Feb. 14 meeting, Sea Isle City Council voted to award the Phase 1 contract for site preparation and surcharge for the Sea Isle Community Center to H4 Enterprises LLC, of Court House, for $267,867.
The bid was significantly below the municipal engineer’s estimated cost of the project at $450,000. The city’s municipal engineering firm, Colliers Engineering and Design, certified that H4 Enterprises was a “responsible contractor” who has performed similar work to that which is being contracted.
The city’s former public school building will be demolished in the coming weeks to provide a site for the community center. A message from Mayor Leonard Desiderio estimated the grand opening of the center will be in early-to-mid 2025.
In his State of the City address presented at the council meeting, Desiderio confirmed that he will be meeting with those residents in “eyeshot” of the planned facility to share recent renderings and reassure the building’s neighbors “that the city has kept its commitment regarding aesthetics and landscaping.”
