Sea Isle Blvd. Paving Nears Completion

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – Business Administrator George Savastano reported the paving operations along the 1.7-mile stretch of Sea Isle Boulevard, from the Exit 17 ramp of the Garden State Parkway (GSP) to the bridge entering the city, were nearing completion June 25. Work crews were finishing final adjustments to the GSP entrance ramp.
For the last four years, contractors have been elevating the main entryway to Sea Isle City by 4.5 feet to raise the roadway above the 100-year flood level. Savastano said that all the paving is expected to be complete by June 28.
As part of the $12.7-million project, the contractor will return to plant grass along the shoulder of the roadway and smooth out any areas that require attention.
