DENNISVILLE – Municipal Engineer Jack Gibson informed Dennis Township Committee Nov. 13 that he is working on a request from the pastor of the South Seaville United Methodist Church on Corson’s Tavern Road to establish a school zone in front of the building.
“They have a pre-school there, so it’s a bit different than a regular school. But the committee has expressed its desire, coupled with residents’ concerns, that we try to calm traffic along that road so we are working to see how we can implement it,” said Gibson.
In response to a comment from a resident, Gibson added, “We understand that there is an establishment with a liquor license nearby (later identified as the club license of Shore Gate Golf Club) and we don’t want to jeopardize that. So we’re going to be very careful moving forward as to how to approach this request and try to satisfy everyone’s needs. We’ll certainly ask for and include neighbors’ input as well.”
