COURT HOUSE — A group of concerned Middle Township taxpayers has hired an attorney and a professional planner to oppose the proposed Conifer Organization housing project in downtown Court House, according to a release.
In order to offset the costs of opposing the developer’s two lawyers, three planners and an architect, the “Save The Village Committee” is soliciting contributions from the public in support of this effort.
Conifer is proposing a 90-unit complex of nine buildings on a tract of land 9.5 acres and needs numerous variances from the Middle Township Zoning Board.
The site could hold about eight to 12 single family dwellings, but the developer wants greater density.
“That density is much too great and is not consistent with the community,” the release stated.
“The negative impact this project would have on this community is far reaching and that is why the group urges members of the public to attend the next Middle Township Zoning Board meeting on the issue on June 11, at 7 p.m. at Middle Township High School cafeteria,” the release stated.
