‘SAVE’ Program Will Not Be Available to MVC Customers March 23-24

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — The SAVE Program operated by the US Federal Government provides a secure and efficient verification service for federal, state and local benefit-granting agencies to verify a benefit applicant’s immigration status or naturalized/derived citizenship.
The NJ Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) is advising those customers who may not be United States (US) citizens that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has notified the MVC that the SAVE Program will not be available on Fri., March 23 and Sat., March 24, 2018 due to system enhancements.
This will prevent the MVC from issuing Driver Licenses or Non-Driver Identification Cards to customers whose information needs to be verified through the SAVE Program.
