WILDWOOD CREST – According to Wildwood Crest borough officials, the sand fill project was completed as of May 1. From the southern end of Jefferson Avenue to Rambler Road, ponding and flooding issues were alleviated after removing “hip-high” sand. Rain caused severe problems along the western beachfront. Some 36,000 cubic yards of sand was relocated to the back area of the beach. The project was approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and state Department of Environment Protection. The project encompassed the area between the bulkhead and dune line.
